Most people are aware that Stephanie was a talented actress, singer and artist, but what they don't know...is that Stephanie was a playwright. Steph wrote two plays in her lifetime, and we are blessed to have both of these plays in our possession as her family. In her last journal entry, Stephanie wrote that her ultimate dream in life was to be on Broadway. She wrote about how so much of her life was spent doing things for other people, and not that she regretted that, but that she was finally ready to pursue the things that she really wanted to do. After her passing, we (her family) made a promise to one another to do everything in our power to make this dream come true; we were going to get our girl to Broadway.

LINKED was written in 2014 and performed at Drew University during Stephanie's senior year. It is a story about relationships in the face of the 9/11 tragedy. It is a play about the importance of choices and the value of humanity. This play is so important, especially this year as it's our Nation's 250th anniversary and the 25th anniversary of 9/11/2001, and we are overjoyed to announce that LINKED has been picked up by the Colonial Chorus Players of Reading, MA as a main stage production during their fall season!

Before we get too carried away, let's start from the beginning...

The Foundation began working in 2024 to bring LINKED to the main stage to carry out Stephanie's Broadway dreams, and we started by contacting an organization very close to Stephanie's heart; Yendor Productions. Yendor was established by Steph's
late mentor, Rodney Gilbert, and Stephanie was actually a founding member. We worked with Yendor's Andrew Binger to formulate a game plan about getting to the stage. Andrew, with much more expertise in this realm than us, so humbly kept us grounded and encouraged us to start getting Stephanie's work into smaller local theaters as a starting point.

But, in typical Weymouth fashion, we wanted more and we wanted it yesterday, so we continued to reach out to contacts who may be able to help us. We were connected with an actual Broadway producer, who so generously gave of her time to meet with us to offer some guidance and insight into the LINKED Project. She gave the same advice that Andrew had for us, start getting Stephanie's work seen and getting this show on the stage. She shared with us that she had been working on a project for 12 years that was finally making it's Broadway debut...WOW! We're grateful for this reality check, as it gave us some actual goals to start working toward in regards to LINKED.

So, we went back to Yendor and worked with Andrew to conduct a reading of the play. Andrew coordinated a Zoom reading of the script, while members of the Foundation were able to view. What an emotional experience this was! We were able to watch as actors who didn't know Stephanie brought her story to life, and it was moving for us to watch them be moved.

Now that we had the script and a recorded reading of the play, we reached out to long time family friends, Mary and Jack Ryan, to ask if they would partner with us to make LINKED happen. Mary and Jack have many years of experience working with the Colonial Chorus Players (CCP), and they are actually the ones responsible for getting Stephanie her start on the stage...they encouraged her to audition for CCP's production of Cinderella when she was eleven years old...and she was cast! Mary and Jack presented Stephanie's script to CCP, and their board voted to pick the play up to be performed this fall! As if that wasn't big enough, Stephanie's LINKED will be performed the weekend of September 11th. Our hearts are overflowing.

Our next step in the process was to officially ask Mary (and Jack) to step into the role of Director for LINKED...a role she is no stranger to. We are honored to have the Ryans as directors, and just our go-to crew during this whole process. We are about to kick off the audition process, and quickly to follow after that will be rehearsals, set/sound/lighting/costume design, and advertisement. All leading up to the 4 productions that will premier on Friday September 11, 2026.

Be sure to follow along on social media as we post updates about the LINKED Project and show information.

If you would like to contribute to making Steph's dream a reality, we are accepting donations specific to the production of LINKED.  Please be sure to specify "LINKED" in your Venmo or check subject line. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to get to bring something like this to life, and we could not even begin to think about making it happen without your support. Thank you.
